1 min readThere is a splendid outlook for wool prices next season according to eastern reports. The receipts of domestic wool at Boston from Jan. 1 to Aug. 16 were 36,677,720 pounds less than for the same period in 1904. It is estimated that Boston has obtained more than its average share of this year's supplies and that the movement from the west has been no slower than usual. The discrepancy is attributed to a shortage in supply which receipts to come are not likely to counteract. Bullish dealers are claiming that the country has consumed a surplus over domestic production and importation of 400,000,000 pounds in seven years, an average of 60,000,000 pounds a year, and will this year consume 30,000,000 pounds more than the average, because of the excellent demand for goods. They figure out a shortage of 40,000,000 pounds to be supplied from some source prior to the next domestic shearing.
