When the Fergus County Agricultural, Mineral and Stock Association was organized for holding exhibitions, twelve years ago, there was scarcely a county in the state holding fairs, the old state fair association having died a natural death some years previous to that time. This year fairs are to be held in nearly one-half of the counties, or in thirteen out of the twenty-seven, counting in the state fair, at Helena. The dates on which the fairs are held are as follows:

Bozeman, Aug. 29-Sept. 1, Livingston, Sept. 4-9; Red Lodge, Sept. 5-7; Big Timber, Sept. 13-16; Billings, Sept. 19-22; Anaconda, Sept. 21, 22 and 23; Twin Bridges, Sept. 21; Lewistown, Sept. 21-23; Great Falls, Sept. 25-28; Missoula, Sept. 26-29; Kalispell and Glendive, dates to be fixed; Montana state fair, Oct. 2-7.
