1 min readThe following self-explanatory call was issued yesterday morning: To the Citizens of Austin: Whereas, Mr. R. R. Lockett, president of the Texas Game Protective Association, has called a meeting of the association at Austin on January 25, 1897, and it is expected that a large crowd will be in attendance, I beg to call a meeting of all citizens of Austin interested in the protection of game and the entertainment of the visiting delegates and members. The Driskill hotel management has kindly tendered its parlors, and I ask the citizens to meet there on the evening of January 7 at 8 o'clock.
