Great Falls, Aug. 25.—Herbert Lewis, the seven-year-old son of H. B. Lewis, of Benton, was killed by his 12-year-old brother at the Lewis ranch between this city and Benton late yesterday afternoon, his head being blown away by the accidental discharge of a shotgun with which the little fellows were playing.
The parents had gone to Benton, leaving five children at the ranch alone. A 12-guage shotgun in the house was secured by the children and was in the hands of the eldest boy when discharged at a distance of a few feet, the charge striking his brother in the back of the head. The accident occurred at about 5 o'clock and the children were alone with the dead body until the return of the parents about 11 o'clock at night, having no means of informing anyone of the accident.
