Articles appearing in several territorial papers indicate that the old "bones of contention" of former legislatures are to be brought forward in the next Legislature: prison removal and county division. The suggestion that efforts are to be made in the next legislature to remove the territorial prison and create several new counties comes up early this year to give the people an opportunity to give their attention to these propositions and give expression to their views in county conventions, so that members of the legislature from the several counties act in accordance with the desires of their constituents.

Both prison removal and county division are questions which directly interest the taxpayers and the people should study them closely and find out where their best interests lie.

Former legislatures have become disgusting on several occasions by the practice of "trading" on prison removal and county division, without making any effort to find out and follow the wishes of the people or showing any consideration whatever for the manner in which such measures would affect the public interests.

Let the county conventions, of all parties, speak out on these important questions, so that legislators may follow the wishes of their constituents. — Bulletin.
