The following cases were filed in the district court yesterday:

W. H. Bell against Mildred J. Townsend; suit on note for $350.

A. P. Wooldridge against The Hamburg-Bremen Fire Insurance Company of Germany for $1600, amount of insurance on tin stock of goods of Louis Bassist at McDade.

A. P. Wooldridge against The Hartford Fire Insurance Company for $1000, amount of insurance on the store of Louis Bassist of McDade.

J. R. Davis against the City of Austin; damages.

Mr. Davis is a citizen of Bexar county and alleges in his petition that on the 23rd day of last March, as he was walking along Sixth street he fell over a large block of stone left there through the gross carelessness and negligence of the city officials. He alleges that his right leg was badly cut, bruised and mangled and his head badly cut and bruised and his left wrist severely wrenched and permanently sprained. He also claims that he was injured internally which has resulted in nervous muscular rheumatism. He wants $5000 damages.
