HAVANA, April 20.

Senor de Lome says it has not yet been proved that the assertions made by Captain Grossman of the steamer Alliance were correct, and it might be presumed that the events narrated by the captain had not occurred at all to the Alliance, but to an English steamer belonging to the Atlas line. He said that taking into consideration the sagacity and diplomatic character of Mr. Cleveland, who certainly is not very impressionable, he did not believe that any important difficulty would be met with in settling the matter.
